Talented Shoe Designer, Vivian Ho Ying Cheng, was born in Hong Kong
but her family migrated to Canada when she was a kid. Although they
returned back to Hong Kong for good only after 3 years, life was not
the same as they were all put into private English schools since they
had missed too much to be re-entered into traditional Chinese local
schools.

After graduating sixth form Vivian came to England for further education
as she was abdomen to pursue a design career which she felt Canada would
not fulfil. So she went to Loughborough University of Art & Design
for Foundation course. Its amazing variety of specialism introduced
to her, helped her realized her passion for fashion. The irony was that
fashion was the last specialism she would ever consider to do before
this course. Age 19, Vivian, was convinced she should avoid the dramatic
stereotype of the fashion world and went down the less conventional
route like costume or footwear instead when applying for the Degree,
and unexpectedly got accepted into the world renowned fashion college
- LCF.

During
the course Vivian was excited to be learning the art and practice
of quality shoe making in Cordwainer’s. The course offered a
lot of opportunities within the industry like competitions and exhibitions.
The Puma project in 2nd Year was a competition amongst all subjects
in the College under the brief for the Olympics East End 2012.
