Denise Van Outen announces she's pregnant with first child

Television host Denise Van Outen is pregnant with her first child, her spokesperson confirmed today.

The 35-year-old and former Joseph star Lee Mead, 28, whom she married in a quiet ceremony in the Seychelles earlier this year, are thrilled by the news.

A spokesman for Denise told Mail Online: 'Denise is fourteen weeks pregnant. Both herself and Lee are absolutely delighted and can’t wait to start their family.'

The couple first met in 2007 on the BBC talent show Any Dream Will Do, which was looking for the next West-End star.

Van Outen was a judge on the show but ended up falling for Mead after he won the prized role.

'I honestly believe I was meant to meet Lee and I was meant to get married,' she has said. After dating for just over a year the couple tied
the knot in a low-key wedding

Wedded bliss: The pair married in an intimate ceremony in the Seychelles in April.

with just close family and friends looking on.

Before she met Mead, Van Outen had a turbulent relationship with Jamiroquai front man Jay Kay.

Relationships with club boss Richard Travis, childhood sweetheart James Lance and a mysterious Hollywood producer followed, but it wasn't until she met Lee that she said she felt she had found 'The One.'

From earlier on she was keen to start a family, saying earlier this year: 'I think it's important to have children with the right person - and Lee's the first guy I have ever wanted them with.'

She added: 'I look at him and know he'd make a great father. Our kids will have so much curly hair!'
